Not there yet...

Yes, it's coming. And although some have already checked out for the year, we still have some learning to do, so please hang in there!

This week we've worked really hard on understanding measurement. We've worked with our personal referents for cm, and have drawn plans of our backyards as we try to understand perimeter. Then we began looking at the differences between two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional objects as we investigate faces, edges, and vertices. In Language Arts, we read the book Love That Dog by Sharon Creech before writing some of our own poetry. We're now reading a story about a boy and his pet fox named Pax by Sara Pennypacker.

For next week, we will be painting with acrylic paints on Monday and Tuesday, so PLEASE wear old clothes or send an old t-shirt with your child that you don't mind getting paint on. Of course, we'll TRY to be careful!

Thank you for your donations to our Save the Ocean club. We will be counting up the money and sharing our total with you next week. If you haven't done so already, please have your child check your house for old dried out markers and send them in too as we will ship them to Crayola for proper disposal.

Please note:

As long as the weather permits, students have and will continue eating their lunches outside "picnic style" - please remember to pack a hat or sunscreen.

Things to Remember:

FunLunch newt Wednesday the 19th (McDonald's & Edible Arrangements)

Sports Day on the 20th (next Thursday)

Thank you! Have a wonderful weekend!
