Gone Fish'n... at Bow Habitat Station!

Hello and thanks for checking in with us this week. We're certainly hoping you're staying warm and healthy as the world around us changes. This was yet another bust week filled with curiosity and wonder.

This week we:

In Language Arts we continued our work with guided reading, and writing stories about boys and zebras, and we are listening to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. Peter and Susan just joined Edmund and Lucy in Narnia. We also received our newest round of Words Their Way words.

In Math, we continued our exploration of multiplication and began creating our Array City. Students are familiarizing themselves with strategies to help solidify both the concept and procedures.

In Science it's all about Animal Life Cycles. Students have learned about the recursive or repetitive nature of the cycle and have looked at the stages of growth for several animals from horses and chickens, to praying mantis and salmon. We also had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Bow Habitat Station where we studied the life cycle of a rainbow trout. Students are becoming familiar with the terms complete and incomplete metamorphosis. Ask you child what the difference is.

In Social, we're still at the airport in Kiev but will be exploring the country soon :)

PE was all about gymnastics.

Next week:

Please see the weekly as per ongoing cancelations or changes... for example: we will not be having Art Felt on Tuesday, Fun Lunch Wednesday, nor will we be going ahead with the Parent Teacher Interviews as planned. But as you know, I am available should you have any questions or want to meet to discuss your child's progress.

Until we talk again, please take care of yourselves and be sure to wash your hands.

Have a great weekend :)
