Aren't they cute? Look how active they are! No doubt you've heard the news and yes it's true - your children are now the proud parents of something they must care for. And if all goes well, you'll be introduced to your - wait for it.... grandchildren next week during interviews.
So here are some other things we've been up to this week:
Social & Science Inquiry:
We've continued working on our Social Research Projects and can't to show you. We've also started an independent research project on our chosen animal's life cycle, habitats, and adaptations. This is a combined Art & Science project.
Math:
We've continued our work with multiplication and even earned some ninja belts for mastering the 0's, 1's, and 2's time tables. We're now working on 3's to 5's (which all students should be able to solve up to 5 x 5). We have also continued supporting our understanding of multiplication through skip-counting and number patterns. Finally, we took the opportunity to begin division! Students should now know that division is the process of dividing things into equal groups.
Literacy:
Writing conferences will be ongoing as I sit with each child and review their weekly work on writing. Ask your child what their next steps are. We finished book 2 the City of Ember series, The people of Sparks, and have started C.S. Lewis's, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.
In PE we've been enjoying Drumfit!
For next week:
Parent Teacher Interviews are Wednesday evening (4-7) and Thursday morning (8-12) and must be booked through your MyCBE account - sadly there have been some booking issues so if you're having trouble, please send me a note and I'll see what I can do.
Please NOTE: These are student led conferences which means there will be other families throughout the room during your scheduled time. If you feel you'd prefer some privacy, contact me and we can arrange another time and date. As you know, I'll always try to accommodate your busy schedules.
No classes Thursday (PD Day)
No classes Friday (Good Friday)
No classes Monday (Easter Monday)
Have a great weekend!
